I need my bath!
A bath was the only thing the house that was missing. There was a really good shower and in fact the bathroom was the only decent room in the house. There was a problem. There was not enough room in the bathroom for both.
However, the style of our house had quite a large, unused space in the eaves and so….I had seen baths in bedrooms in small boutique hotels and some of the larger houses and castles that Alan had worked on.

Exposed Eves

This bath was not only the perfect size but also could be painted to match the wall colour. It was on sale at B&Q!
So when he suggested putting one in our bedroom my first thought ..oh yes!
Of course, we’re not talking about a full bathroom suite open to the bedroom, but a lovely bath setting the scene for pure bedroom/bathroom luxury.
I could not do without my Sunday afternoon soak with a good book, a glass of wine and plenty of bubbles.
Giving the room a real sense of luxury and space for relaxing and taking time to unwind which we all need that these days.

Pipes are in, floor reinforced, insulation in and now ready for the installation
We called this the lockdown room as that was when Al had time to do it.
Grateful for small mercies and all that
As is often the case, Alan will come up with a paint colour that he has seen and I generally fall in with the idea (if I like it of course!). This time the colour was Sulking Room Pink Farrow and Ball and I loved the colour. The carpet and tiling are a dark charcoal which tied in with the flooring on the rest of the first floor.

The plumbing
We were at an advantage as we had decided to put the bath in before the new carpets were laid so all the pipes were already there under the floor ready to be connected, it was just a case of joining it all up. (Remember who is writing this lol!)

Modesty Screen
We had this old screen for a long time and finally found a use for it

Sounds easy 🤔
