We bought an ex-council house.
We bought it because it had all my wants. 3 bedrooms, just in case the boys wanted to come home (one did), 1 bedroom downstairs for my sewing room, big garden, parking area, good space out the back, close to town, close to gym. It had all the basics.
However, it was in a very bad condition inside and out but as we have renovated a few properties in our time we reckoned we had one more in us.

Big Al is a brilliant craftsman. His trade is painting and decorator and he has plied his trade for over 40 years. He was part of a shopfitting team for 10 of those years he picked up a plethora of skills which I, of course utilise mercilessly.

I have made curtains and blinds, recovered sofa, stools, chairs, made cushion, remade cushions, recovered lampshades made new lampshades, then if I changed my mind remade them all again!– Frankly if you can stick a pin in it, I will tackle it. Taught some by my mother some by mistakes and latterly by that font of wisdom….. YouTube!
