Lynda Forbes, Sewing and Creating in Inverness.

It’s all about me

I have been sewing and creating since I was a child. Then for my ever suffering Sindy doll (cheap version of Barbie). She wore a ski outfit made from masking tape and lollypop sticks and the inevitable wedding dress from net curtain.

When I was a teenager it was clothes (we are talking the 70s and money was short). My pal and I worked in a Jeans shop on a Saturday (we were 14 at the time) and our pay was £4.20. Spent half on fabric to make a new top so that we could go to the dancing in Glasgow the following week!

Things for the kids came next although they were boys and the spectrum was limited. It didn’t take long before they announced ‘I’m not wearing that!’

It has taken a while to get to do what I have always loved as life gets in the way but sewing and crafting is what I do now and I am forever grateful to those who made it possible.

If you need some advice, contact me and I will see if I can help and look out for videos, tips and pics which will hopefully be posted soon.
